I'm back!

After almost a year of not updating, I finally decided to revive this little space of mine. I guess other than sharing some interesting events that I've been just like in the past, I'm gonna share about postal mail in Singapore as well. There are actually little fun moments but non-snailmailers won't take notice of and it's all definitely "made with love".

So, a flashback of my 2014. I know it seems pretty late for a flashback now but whatever. hahaha. Because I haven't been blogging, I've got to rely on my instagram for now.

Attended my first ever Airshow:

River Hongbao's special postmarks:
For the first time, I learnt that the yearly event, River Hongbao, has different special postmarks for all the days. It's hosted by Singpost.

Visited Singapore's first ever LINE Pop Up Store:

Started to get healthy with kimchi:
hahahaha

First full-time job:
After a long journey of job hunting, finally managed to settle down in a design agency. 2014 is also the year I officially stepped into the working society.

Went crazy with private sales:

Addicted to sealing wax:
Thanks to my penpal who gave me my first sets of sealing wax, I became addicted in using them. I find that they bring extra touch to a flat mail and visually beautiful too. Honestly, I feel like I'm living backwards after I started exploring into snail mailing.

Attended my first ever Dîner en Blanc:
It was a fun experience. Interesting part was that the location is only revealed on the day itself. We just hopped into a bus at one of the pick-up locations and "follow the flow". Last year, it was held on Tanjong Beach, Sentosa. Literally dining and partying by the beach.

And for the first time, fireworks show was super close to me. Like right in my face! Even my phone camera can't capture the whole scene. Fire crackers were like fired about 100m away from me.

Gotten a new iMac:
My Macbook Pro decided to die on me all of a sudden and it wasn't worth the price to get it repaired. Since I'm no longer a student and there's very minimal chance requiring me to carry out a labtop, I decided iMac would be a better choice. I didn't want to overcharge another labtop while using long hours at home. (Why does Apple like to lock everything up behind the casing? Apple's labtop batteries used to be removable! Tsk!)

Went Batam, Indonesia for the first time:
Batam is just an hour of ferry trip away from Singapore. No idea what takes my family so long to make a plan there. Batam is really a good place for a short getaway after a week of long hours work. All it needs is just a weekend. I totally love the fact that I can travel without taking any leave from work.

Driving into Johor Bahru with mum and relatives:
Not my first time to JB but this was my first to literally drive in from my house. At the same time, this is also my first time travelling around JB with mum, aunt, cousin and her boyfriend. Though it was just a one day trip, I enjoyed being away from Singapore for a break.

First time cycling with primary classmates after graduation:

I used to cycle to school when I was in primary school. Most of the time, my bicycle was my main transport. At times, I would also cycle with my classmates to travel around Pasir Ris, like to Loyang Point? But after graduation and me moving to the far west, meet up has only been a meetup - food and chit-chatting. So I'm glad to cycle with my primary school classmates again and also looking around at Pasir Ris seeing how much it has changed for the past 10 years.

First travelling trip with all 4 of my ladies:
Though it isn't literally like a 4d3n kind of overseas trip, it was a good start. I had a trip two years ago to Bangkok with the same group of people but missing one. With this, it became my second trip to Batam and both in the same year. What makes the trip different from the previous, other than companions, was that this time was free and easy. We had the time to ourselves to shop and even do hair treatment. Awesome! Totally love the cheap shopping in the supermarket too.

CSCC Christmas Party in a hotel:
The yearly event went atas last year. After years of celebrating in the middle of Orchard Road and later at a chalet house, we celebrated days earlier at Gallery Hotel with pot luck session for our dinner. Because there were many attendees, it didn't cost a lot per pax and it was so much comfortable compared to what we experienced in the past years.

Despite having good and positive times in the year, 2014 is still a disastrous year to the whole world. The worse anyone can ever imagine seems like had all happened within the year. Hence, in the midst of reminiscing the good times, we should not forget many are grieving over the loss of their love ones.

Starting the New Year with Rain and Nine Muses

How's 2014 so far for you? For me, life's back to the usual routine - boring. Hope it'll get exciting soon! Anyhow, I still had a good start of the year. My friend invited me, along with two other friends to Rain with Nine Muses New Year Concert as her parents received free tickets from MBS. It was a fun night and also an exciting way to start the year.

⋙ Best goodie bag with the essentials for a concert party night. ・*:・゚☆

Even though I am not a fan of Nine Muses and Rain (in fact, I don't know any of their songs. Opps! XD), I still enjoyed myself especially when Rain appeared. After all, I'm a girl whatttt!!! Hahahaha. Since I'm there, I became a cloud for a day! Cloud is the name for Rain's fans, like Big Bang's fans are called VIP and 2NE1's fans are called Blackjacks. He went down the stage twice to provide fan service, of course, I also reached out my hands like everyone la! hahahaha

Random bits after Korea trip

I've actually been back from Korea for a few weeks and snacking away all my seaweeds. I didn't forget to blog, especially to share about my trip. In fact, I took loads of photos (more than a thousand!!!! aigoooooo~~~) and already "dumped" them into facebook albums for my friends to see. Actually I don't know if any of my friends would even bother to slowly view through all of them. I took a lot of random shots! ٩̋(๑˃́ꇴ˂̀๑) Anyway, I just got back my labtop from eServ so I'm still in the midst of editing for blogging. So, in the meantime... random iphoneography shall do the job! hahahaha

⋙ Movie stickers from GetGlue. They are free-of-charged and shipped worldwide. Get them if you are interested. They are free anyway! hahahaha!

⋙ Wearing my new cap and shirt from Korea! And the hidden backpack too! hahaha!

⋙ The two early birds queuing at JEM's Sushi Tei.

⋙ Salmon Don

⋙ Cause I am Doraemon, I eat dorayaki!

⋙ Dinner at JEM's Han's with mum and bro.

⋙ Wearing a shirt I rarely wear. Now, just nice for the neon trend! hahahaha!

The shirt was made by a group of guys who called themselves 宅男墅 (zhai nan shu) during 模範棒棒堂 (mo fan bang bang tang) days. I got it free cause when one of the members came to Singapore and sell the tees, it was my birthday! hahahahaha! 我賺到了!  The quality is good too!

⋙ Waiting and waiting and waiting at eServ.

⋙ Special postmark from Killiney Road Post Office!

⋙ SGD$4.50 only! (Sold as a pair!)

⋙ Capricciosa's chocolate lava cake.

⋙ Finally finalized my Korea trip's travelling diary! First completed traveler's notebook! Can't wait to travel more to have more of these completed notebooks!

This is going to be useful when I blog about the trip!

Good Food Week

The week that I felt so guilty for spending and eating so much good food, but I am gonna ignore and feel blissful instead! hehehe. (๑´ڡ`๑)♡

☆ Tuesday ☆

Went for a job interview early in the morning.

☆ Wednesday ☆

Sort of like a Japanese food day at Tanjong Pagar with LASALLE peeps - Jooey, Jessinta and Wenjing. We tried two highly raved outlets at the area.

⋙ Keisuke Tonkotsu King at Orchid Hotel

It was also recommended by my other classmates.

⋙ I'm totally in love with its interior design. So vintage!!!!! As if I just entered an old ramen shop in Japan.

⋙ Free flow of eggs. I thought it would be ajitsuke tamago (japanese flavored soft boiled egg) but sadly, nope! Just the normal hard boiled eggs! (๑•́ ₃ •̀๑)

⋙ Ajitsuke tamago only available with orders and depending if you chose to have it or not. The soup is nice but the char siew not so much of my likings. Read further down to understand my reason!

⋙ Tsujiri at 100AM behind Amara Hotel.

It was actually recommended to me and Wenjing by a journalist during Nana's Green Tea's Opening. Though after that I could not really remember the name and location, I started noticing the raved about it and now I finally tried it!   (人´∀`).☆.。 It's actually a very small cafe with only like 8 tables(?). The serving is really small for my order, o-matcha milk with match ice cream, but it's nice! The ice cream isn't bitter like some matcha would taste. All the pricing actually doesn't differ much from each other and nothing exceed sgd8 except "Sunrise" and "Sunset" Uji which are sgd12.

⋙ Dinner was at Plaza Singapura's The Soup Spoon.

☆ Saturday ☆

⋙ Baikohken (梅光軒) at Takashimaya Basement (behind the foodcourt).

This is the reason why Keisuke Tonkotsu King's ramen not so much to my liking cause this outlet's char siew is just heavenly!!!! It breaks easily and isn't hard to chew! This is actually recommended by a classmate of mine and I love their char siew ever since. Their regular size ramen served in generous amount too. But their shoyu ramen isn't much to my liking as it was too salty. Previously I had their shoyu butter corn ramen and it tasted much better!

Later, I also realized that this is a classic Asahikawa (a city in Hokkaido prefecture) ramen. Anyhow, Baikohken is originally from Asahikawa, so it makes sense!

Now, who wants to go with me for the next round? Hahahahaha

⋙ Paris Baguette at Wisma Atria.

After so long, I finally get to try this cafe! It is actually a French inspired Korean cafe. Over there, I was rather surprised by the price! Not cheap at all lo!!!! (But luckily no GST or service charge.) So, I hope I have the chance to visit one of their outlets in Korea. It is way cheaper too! Tsk! Why everything in Singapore become so expensive?!

I tried 'Oh~my~baby crepe' (what a cheesy name) and it just tasted okay. I think I would rather just have the mille crepe cake without sliced strawberries. The strawberries simply overpowered the mille crepe cake and not blend together with it. AND THE LEMON ADE IS SO SOUR!!!!! (Θ︹Θ)ს

⋙ Potato wedges! Not bad! And the chili isn't spicy!

⋙ IT'S TOMORROW!!! I believe for the first few days, JEM (Jurong East Mall) will be mad crowded just like Jcube! So I'll visit days after! HAHAHAHA

Red Velvet Cupcakes

Baking day at Jess' house yesterday. This time round, we (Jess, Wenjing and me) baked red velvet cupcakes with lots of help from Jess' mum. Though the result wasn't that successful (but still edible la hahahaha), it is still at least better than without Jess' mum help as we faced a lot of problems with the recipe we used.

Tomato Game and Dramas

Quick update before I head out.

So, I didn't manage to blog yesterday! #dailychallengefailed (。•́︿•̀。) I was at Jessinta's place with Wenjing and by the time I reached home was already 12am or near 12am. We wanted a baking session but by the time we reached her house was too late to bake anything, so we postponed to next week! And we brainstormed for my project. Sigh!

⋙ Tomato game that we played! A simple and fun game for small group of people (less than 5).

These two weeks, I've also completed two korean dramas.

Iris 2:

Ever since I completed Iris 1, I was totally into thriller action dramas. Iris 2 is a continuation of Iris 1 even though the main leads are different. I won't say Iris 2 isn't exciting cause it is more exciting than the first series with a lot of twist and 2-faced but I think it's a bit too much till the plot became complicated. I still prefer Iris 1 - simple and exciting.

Flower Boys Next Door

This drama is originally based on a korean webtoon (online cartoon comic). The storyline is actually simple but I think it is the characters that made the drama captivating. I don't know if I will re-watch again but this is a good drama if you like simple storyline without much twists.

The Japanese and Korean night

Finally after so long, Von, Yihlin and me met up again for dinner last night. We all each had Gyokai Ramen Set plus cold houji cha at Osaka Osho. Sadly, the half egg isn't my favorite ramen egg.

⋙ Basically it's a set of char siew ramen with gyozai.

Actually I already had char siew ramen the day before at Baikohken (located at Takashimaya's basement 2) and it was so awesome! My classmate, Amelia, brought me and another classmate, Nicholette, there. It was really worth a trip down to enjoy an awesome bowl of ramen! The meat was soooooooo tender! Oishii~~~! (๑´ڡ`๑)♡

⋙ Shoyu ramen with butter corn.

Okay, back to yesterday! hahahaha.

⋙ I finally gotten my Big Bang stickers from Yihlin!!! Honestly, I'm not really a VIP cause I'm not that crazy over them but this sticker is so pretty that I can't resist and got Yihlin to help me get it. (♡′艸`)

⋙ Souvenirs from Yihlin who got back from Korea not long ago. Kamsahamnida!
(❁´◡`❁)*✲゚*

⋙ Slacked at Starbucks after dinner with my red bean green tea frappuccino.

And lastly,

hahahaha
