Preserving Culture Heritage

All culture has its own stories, traditions and practices. Because of these, we are where we are now. Due to modernization and influences, we started to get lazy or think it is less important and we made our culture's origin fade. To think, if this carries on, till (let's say) next five generations, what's left for them?

As part of being a Chinese, it is my responsibility to understand the my roots and practice the culture. In fact, this applies to everyone no matter which culture you are born in, including the dialect cultures. If we are not the ones holding on to our roots, then who does? Hence, in the midst of being influenced by other cultures, look back and have a good understanding of our own culture. We should not let the knowledge and practice fade away together with the last person from the older generation . We should let it last, agree?

Walking down the street in Singapore, it is a common sight to see Malays and Indians in their traditional clothing. But where are the qipaos and changshans? Have you ever wonder? Is it really weird to wear them during normal days? Though modernization have killed part of our culture, but why are we the ones being "affected"? Even Koreans and Japanese do still wear theirs.

On top of that, during Chinese New Year, there is no saying that Chinese have to wear their qipaos/changshans. Is this part of our growing up process that the Chinese didn't have the habit to? Or is it because we are not deeply fixed to the roots of our culture that we got much influence by the Westerners?

After Christmas , before 2011 ended (28-30 December) , i went Genting with family for a short getaway ! Because Malaysia is right beside Singapore , long bus ride to Genting ! But nevertheless , it's still better than riding on a bus around Singapore !

Anyway , this post gonna be filled with photos ! Cause i'm posting photos for all 3 days ! (ο^ω^ο)

⋙ Breakfast at Marrybrown before exploring the other parts/hotels in Genting .

⋙ So damn creepy steep and high !!!! But still long way to go ! ฅ(๑*д*๑)ฅ!!

⋙ Finally see the destination !

⋙ Bought tibits ! But actually the place also nothing much to see !

⋙ Holy crap ! Spent about more than an hour standing and queueing just to return back to Genting ! Downhill was fast but seriously didn't expect uphill to be this crazy ! Cause this is the shortest and fastest way to reach Genting compared to riding on wheels and so , many families chose to travel up this way ! DAMN ZZZ TTM !!! Bloody waste my time ! But luckily i had korean drama - I need Romance - with me in my phone ! hehehe .

⋙ Finally after the long wait !

⋙ i dislike this hotpot restaurant ! Nothing nice to eat ! All the ingredients provided mainly are fish cake and other cheap food . And only TWO KINDS OF MEAT !!! Wth ?!! Not worth it !

⋙ Bowling with family cause we didn't know what to do !

That late night , i met Yin , Pan and Low to casino (not coincidentally) . MY FIRST TIME ENTERING !!! Cause i just turned 21 not long . Anyhow , i didn't like the atmosphere . Not the gambling atmosphere but the smoking atmosphere ! People everywhere smoking ! The smell is so thick that it simply makes my throat feels so dry ! Ծ‸ Ծ But nevertheless , i did try playing a jackpot machine AND I DIDNT EVEN WIN ONCE during the tries ! *No luck !* i didn't keep playing cause i didn't want myself to get addicted cause i know once i'm hooked , it gonna be no ending !

Honestly there's nothing much special about Genting other than the cold weather . i haven't been there for like since age of 14 , so it was not really that boring to me . But i think my next trip will probably be a hang around since i've done all the exploring UNLESS my next trip is 7 years later ! hahahaha !

Back to School

Been a week of school already . i'm still in the midst of knowing my new classmates ! This semester gonna be much more crazier ! Last semester to higher diploma certificate and also a "preview" semester of degree/final year .

We are to work on a tradition that has been losing/almost extinct over the decades and bring them back . And the end product will be showcase to public in May/June ! ꒰ ΄◞ิ۝◟ิ‵꒱ Oh well , good luck to me and hope i can stay 100% on my work ! FIGHTING ~!

Hello 2012 !

it's a brand new year again . ઈ(◕ั◡◕ั)☄*ﾟ*♥♡” 2011 seemed to have passed fast like a blink . But whatever that has been a history , let's let it remain as history and memory . Move on for a better life ! ꒰ ♡´∀`♡ ꒱

Oh ya ! 2011 is also the year me and my fellow 1990 friends turned 21 ! This also means 2012 onwards we are officially leading an adult life ! (☍﹏⁰) i hate getting older !

Anyway , last two weeks of 2011 were busy weeks for me . i was out almost everyday meeting up with friends ! i'll not go into too much details but mainly photos about my last two weeks of 2011 .

The Silent Meetup

After a year , i finally met up with 2 of my Siglap Secondary friends again . Silent meetup cause we were rather quiet throughout . Basically , we got hook to our own phone , texting etc , most of the time . ꒰*´∀`*꒱͛ But nevertheless , it was nice meeting them again .

After dinner , time was 7.30pm . Cause before dinner , me and Michelle found out that VanNess Wu would be at Bugis as well for autograph session at 7.30pm . And since we didn't know what to do next , we just crashed in . Superstar was late and we waited for 15 minutes ! (●´⌓`●)

My 21st Ocean Party

Wooohooo i'm back blogging ! But with laziness too ! Cause i'm gonna make it a quick one as i'm in the midst of watching a Korean variety show . i started watching it late when it has already like 70+ episodes ? Hence i'm being a hardworking audience now . (o´艸`)

Now now , back to topic !!! Yea , my 21st birthday celebration ! That was like more than a month ago ! hehehehe It was celebrated on 5 November which was 11 days before my actual . i'm glad i made the right choice of dates . Cause i predicted my actual would be around the same time as my assessment day . And indeed , my assessment week was the same week as my birthday . But that doesn't mean i've got plenty of time to plan and design for my birthday . Almost a chaos ! Cause i had to settle cake , food , props etc everything while rushing my projects . Crazy period ! How i wish i had a break before my birthday so i could plan a better one .

But all in all , thanks to all my friends who came down ! Without them , no matter how well the party is planned , my 21st wouldn't be so fun . i feel the love yo ! (๑¯̆ ᴈ¯̆๑)♡♡♡♡♡

Ohya ! i also had a new haircut for my 21st ! If you realize , it was much shorter than before . And i'm glad i did though i was also fighting with submission at the same time without sleep . Plus an okay smile ended up a tired smile !!! ◢▆▅▄▃崩╰(〒皿〒)╯潰▃▄▅▇◣ but it isn't that obvious in these few photos i've picked + the resize for this post . ＞艸＜)

Actually this holiday i wanted to play with lomo cameras but laziness stop me ! (๑×ω×๑)

♥ Last but not least , what's a polaroid without films ? Hence my 4 darlings + their 2 boyfriends got me sufficient films to last the night and an album to store them . Actually it was kind of risky for them to get , cause i was not sure if my primary school friends did get a polaroid or not for me and miss pan also did not bring hers . And yea , in the end i've got a polaroid and an album filled with memories of the night !

All in all , my 21st party was a fun one ! i seriously haven't had a birthday party since 10 years old which was 11 years ago !!!! Before the party , i was rather scare what if no one turns up or only a few could make it ? But in the end , the place was so overcrowded that there wasn't sufficient seats for everyone . Actually is only outside overcrowded cause i blocked the stairways to the only room in the chalet so indoors nowhere to sit . (Cause all our (me , my aii sisters and miss yin's bf Ianie) valuables , clothes , everything were upstairs on the floor . And all of them except miss pan are just acquaintance with my cs peeps and none of them knows my primary school peeps .) How i wish i could book a bigger chalet but school timetable was hard to predict . Rahhhhh ~!

Okay shall stop my lengthy essay !

Now i'm so much into flea market . So many awesome cheap stuffs !

♥ china glaze and OPI glow in the dark nail lacquer

YESYES ! GLOW IN THE DARK !!! IT REALLY GLOWS !!! i tried and tested and i was like , "OMG THIS IS CREEPY ! BUT COOL SHIT !" But is really creepy to see something glowing and moving in the dark . Now i am so excited to wear this to some night activities like halloween and night walk ! Wooooohooo ~ ─=≡Σ((( つ╹ω╹)つ And this costs me SGD10 ! ^^

And for china glaze , it is my first time trying it . i see the difference in the brush - thinner than OPI . But china glaze seems to have a nice varieties for colors to choose from and cheaper too . SGD7 for a bottle ! There's neon colors too !!! i would say china glaze can be a cheaper choice to get awesome nail colors . As for the quality , i only tested on my big toe so i can't really comment much about it . For the brush size , i don't see it as a problem cause it can be useful to do nail art like dripping and strips . it is also easier to control the amount of lacquer applying on nail .

♥ NYX nude pink lipstick

i am aware of the rave in this brand's lipstick and this just costs freaking SGD5 so what's the reason of not getting it right ? hehehe . i tried on my lips and Harmonica looks really pale . Probably i'll try it when i have eyes makeup on , cause without it , i look bad and harder to judge ! But anyhow , it is freaking SGD5 !!! Taiwan Trip: Day 6 Part 3 Shihlin Night Market

(i know this post has been such a long delay but i'm still posting it anyway . And Shihlin Night Market is one of my favorite places in Taiwan , so i've got so much to share . (≧∀≦) Doing this post seriously make me wanna teleport there right away . hehehe .)

Before i start , i shall state here first that photos seen on this post are not taken during my second trip but my first trip . But no matter which day or which trip , it's still the same place after all right ? And since i explored more during my first trip , it is more worth it to share and be recorded in my blog . (゠´∀`゠)

i think this post gonna be killing all hungry tummies cause Shihlin Night Market has many many awesome food . Okay la , maybe not all seems awesome but still a few to be dying for . Cause it's too awesome and only available there !

At Shihlin Night Market , the famous Chicken fillet is definitely not to be missed ! it's often seen with super long queues !

But if you are lazy to queue (like me) and you think you will be there like late at night , then i suggest to buy late night when there isn't crowded . Or can go shopping first !

▲▼大腸包小腸 (da chang bao xiao chang) ! it's actually like hot dog bun but bun replaced with glutinous rice .

The black pepper isn't spicy . FYI , i have low tolerance for spiciness .

▲ 冰糖葫蘆 (bing tang hu lu / icy candy[?]) !

Fruits coated with hardened sugar syrup . it is also one of the traditional food that is being passed down since centuries ago .

▲ Oyster Omelette , also know as 'or jian' or 'or ah jian' .

Taiwan's tasted very different from what we have in Singapore . Singapore's tasted more of the egg but Taiwan's tasted more of the dough .

Though the name of the drink sounded like it's gonna be frog's eggs but it is actually not . It is just the pearls/jelly that resembles the eggs .

▲ ai-yu jelly . Actually the jelly alone is tasteless .

▲ 豬血糕 (Pig Blood Cake) . i think it tasted fine ? But i know it looks disgusting ! ＞艸＜

▲ i think we tried bitter gourd juice and papaya milk .

In such night markets , fruit juice is one of the better choice compared to drinking pearl milk tea . i dont know why people say if ever visit Taiwan must try their pearl milk tea . On the first night , we tried and we all went ewwwwww ! Worst than what we have in Singapore ! But not that Taiwan's pearl milk tea sucks , just that you have to get them from bubble tea shops like 50嵐 (50lan) . ^^

Actually there was a temporary extension of the night market during our first two nights . Like what we called pasar malam in Singapore , there's mini games too . Actually we didnt know it was temporary till the third night we realized the area suddenly seemed empty .

Walking down further , away from the food area , this is what you will see :

it's actually a shopping paradise with cheap buys everywhere !!! But shopping aside first ,

continue with more food ! hehehehe .

On the opposite road , not only shopping , there's always this duck shop and i literally mean DUCK .

There's duck head , duck wing , duck tongue and duck neck . Poor duck ! ＞꒢＜

Walking down the lane of the shopping area , you will see many push carts/temporary stores . it's a common sight in Taiwan and 99% of the stores are selling illegally . So don't be surprise if you suddenly see stall owners running away . Cause the police are approaching ! XD

Shihlin Night Market is super awesome for cheap and trendy stuffs ! If you think you wanna check out for a lower price at other places , chances is low ! i even have friends travelling back here on our last night ! Cause initially we thought wu fen pu will be cheaper since everyone says so as it is a wholesale place . But it turns out not . Cheat our feeling ! ´꒢`

If you often join/notice Taiwan sprees , you will know this shop . Bags sold there are damn cheap and trendy ! About SGD12 on average ? But nothing more than SG20 ! In Singapore, similar bags are found at double price ! ＞Д＜ And because it's so cheap , on my second trip , me and my mum bought many bags till we could apply for their membership ! Shiok max ! Oh ! And the staffs there are awesome ! They are super patient and won't show black face even when i requested for a newer/another piece when i notice a minor flaw on the bag . (Y)

★ Manicure

Manicure is damn cheap ! They charged by design and not the amount of elements used . Like in Singapore , manicurist will charge number of blings etc while the outlet i went at Shihlin doesn't ! But i don't know if the shop is still there cause during my 2nd trip , the shop seems to look different . Not sure if it's me who noticed the wrong shop or it has already moved out .

i think i paid like only NT300 ? TOTALLY WORTH IT !!! But sadly , we can't find such cheap deals in Singapore ! *face reality*

★ Luggage !

Okay la , i know i sounded random but during my first trip when we roamed around the place like countless of times , i would notice this luggage shop . They are so cheap and pretty that i almost wanted to get them ! But i can't ! Everyone had their own luggage to pull and impossible and also troublesome for me to pull two luggages ! ´꒢`

★ Kawaii shop

You know those shops that sells cute disney and san-x characters' unofficial products ? And also random cute stuffs ? Yes , i'm referring to those ! There's this shop filled with a mass of these cute stuffs and got me tempted to get ! Though it was cheap , but i have to control my expenses ! ( ﾉД`) The shop isn't hard to get notice and located not far from the welcome sign .

Phew ! Now i'm finally left with my last day in Taiwan ! ^艸^

i got this from gmarket and it was my first time purchasing. This is rather small , so it can't hold thick wires . So i used it to hold my mouse wire . it looks damn cute !

i got this from gmarket as well . And this was actually my purpose of shopping in gmarket as my iphone cable is turning faulty . i literally have to waste hell load of time just to get my phone connected to my labtop . (´×ω×｀) This cable is rather short but it isn't a problem to me . And it costs like about SGD5 . Cheap and cute ! (●癶∀癶●)

♡ OPI Lacquers

Got these from flea market as it was damn cheap ! SGD9 for normal color lacquer whereas retail price is more than SGD20 ! See the huge difference ?! And ever since then , i was spoilt by the weekly flea that i now literally went over to check out every Friday after class . i see my money flying away ... ^[$$]^

School life is getting insane when the ending of semester is nearing . About 1.5 months ? May seem long but not forgetting the additional projects coming up and currently working on . And time is also needed to modify my last term work . ┐(´д｀)┌

The most headache and stress project for now gonna be integrated project (advertising campaign) . it is basically draining up my brain juice and cutting down my sleeping hours . And submission is next week ! How nice ! (ﾉД｀) Means i have no time to blog ! ∏〰∏ But will still try to make a short and quick one like now . (ps. i wanna post my September favorite purchases ! Awesomely cute from Gmarket ! Hopefully can do so soon !)

Been drinking lots of Gong Cha these days ! Earl Grey milk tea with pudding jelly is my favorite ! ( ˘ ³˘)♥ i can't have pearls due to braces (get freaking stuck between the holes easily arghhhh) . Anyhow , not that i'm disliking Koi and liking Gong Cha more but just that Gong Cha is just 2 car lanes away from my school ! SUPER CONVENIENT !!! (๑´ڡ`๑) (Y)

Simple lips care procedure

Well , some of you guys may have already known about what i'm gonna share but nevertheless , i suppose there will still be people who hear about this for the first time . ^^

i used to have super dry lips . Not that i did not drink enough water , even if i drink a lot , my lips will still crack ! ´꒢` And i had this habit of peeling the dry skin which is a bad thing . it may lead to ugly scar lips but i was lucky that they didn't .

Anyway , lip balms/essence are really an essential for dry lips . Having it also does not mean that you will have pretty lips . You have to apply it consistently ! Keep your lips as moist as possible . Carry it with you 24/7 ! And it really works cause i experienced it myself ! For a period of time , i was hardworking enough to apply consistently and not long after , i realize my lips are not cracking that much like before ! *\(^ ∀ ^)/*

Ever experience when lips' skin are too dry , and even after applying lip balm and you can still feel the dead skin ? Don't peel it . Visit the washroom or anywhere with tap water , wet your lips and gently rub off the dead skin with your finger . If you are at home , you can choose to use your toothbrush to exfoliate your damp lips - in circular motion up and down . But using finger to rub off is still a lazy way out . hehehehe .

So , what's the use of taking so much effort to take care of your lips when your lips are filled with deep creases/wrinkles ? i realize a lot of gals like to pout (the 'chu' lips) and some pouts for almost every of their photos . But do you know pouting creates deeper creases/wrinkles ? it is the same reasoning when people say not to frown as it will create wrinkles on your forehead . Once in a while should be alright but definitely not too often . Otherwise , you will find yourself having obvious wrinkled lips even after applying lip gloss/stick .

And that's all for lips care . Simple right ? But it all begins with yourself to work for a healthy lips or not . Of course , healthy lifestyle is important as well . ((´^ω^))

That day , Yuping celebrated her 21st at Hort Park in a room called Leaf room . Travelling there was like travelling to a foreign land as we weren't familiar with the place . Eventually , we got lost ! （＞艸＜）We walked into the wrong area ! =.=

Literally drop into the "box" .

But this time what i'm going to introduce is not an app that works independently on iphone itself , but work hand-in-hand with its desktop software - Dropbox .

So how this works ?

it's a website that enables you to store your files (anything !) online . But what's so good about this is :

♥ You can view your files while outside on your device (iphone/ipad/android/blackberry) .

♥ If you download its software onto your desktop , it creates a folder which you can just store your files in . It will just sync to the server on its own .

♥ Like how people share a sever in a company , you can have it too . Just create a folder inside dropbox folder and share with anyone you want ! And you can start sharing files among yourselves !

♥ Save your time trying to send/email multiple big files to your friends . You can do other things while it syncs on its own and no worries of any error in the process of sending .

♥ Accidentally deleted a file and when you realize it , you have already emptied your trash ? No worries , you can restore your file through the website .

♥ A place for your important documents . Safer than in an external disk ! Cause you won't know when your desktop or hard disk gonna crash/give you problems .

♥ When you are outside , and your friend has an important document (eg. pdf , doc , xls etc) for you , he/she can "drop" the file into the shared folder between you two and you can open the file while still being away from your desktop .

♥ Up till 8GB of storage to earn like signing up through me , you can gain extra spaces too ! (*^ω^*) hehehehe

Actually i wasn't sure if i should continue blogging about this monthly since school has started and most stuffs i got is boring art stuffs or to do printing . And my money has mostly drained by then plus i seriously need to save money !!!! Depleting faster than i thought ! ($ᄾ$)

Anyhow , i'm still sharing few items i got this month .

♥ Mentholatum Mogitate Kajitsu lip balm (Grape and Berry)

Honestly , partial reason for getting this was all because of this cute packaging ! i know i'm damn realistic la ! But fyi , i'm already on my second stick for this series . i was only considering whether to try a different brand for my third stick till i saw this .

My second stick hasn't really used up but i got tired of remembering to bring it out (which at times i forgot) with me or dig it out from my bag when i'm home . So i thought might as well get another one to solve this problem . On top of that , i also use quite often so don't have to worry if i can't finish it .

Personally i think this series works well for me as my lips are no longer easily dry like they used to be .

♥ Leopard tail from Singapore Zoological Garden

Read here for the whole story . hehehehe . But anyhow , i got this SGD4.60 instead of the usual price SGD9.90 . (Y)

♥ Glue tapes from Popular Bookstore

When i first saw the uhu version of this , i thought it would be a waste of money since like correction tape , we would use up fast unconsciously . But after Wenjing introduced this to me , cheaper too , i decided to give it a try . And guess what ? I GOT IN LOVE WITH IT till i don't feel like using any other glue or tape products ! This works fast and neat ! (Y)

Did you notice the glue tape which is still in packaging is freaking 20m long ?!

Yes , you didn't see wrongly ! Holy 20m long which costs only SGD5.25 ! And when you get its refill , it's much more cheaper - SGD3.15 ! TOTALLY WORTH THE PRICE !!! Cause it's the cheapest i see so far . hahahahahaha .

Zoo alone !

Don't be too shock . i know it myself . Cause i seriously never thought i would be there alone too as i'm never a zoo person . Probably on average few years visit once ? And it's also located in a ulu corner of Singapore . So yea , i went there alone last Saturday for my advertising project as i needed images of elephant's feet and crocodiles (not having high hopes on this since lecturer has agreed that i use online photos) .

A rainy morning almost pushed away my decision of making a trip down plus my mum who non-stop brainwashing my mind of not to go due to the dark sky . In the end , i insisted and rushed down to zoo on the very last minute to catch the last elephant show cause that was almost my main point for the trip ! ε=ε=ε=┌┤*´д`├┘

President election polling day happening on the same day , i thought zoo would be almost empty and was even afraid zoo would be closed . But to my surprise , zoo was so packed that day . i even had to queue to get the tickets though it was already mid-noon .

Not my first time visiting zoo this year , and luckily i'm not someone who has no sense of direction , i managed to find my way , with the help of the map , in no time to the location for elephant show . FYI , it was almost starting when i arrived the zoo on cab . (((ﾟДﾟ))) A sea of audience filling up every possible space was the first thing i notice when i arrived . "OMG ! How am i going to take photos ?!" at first but luckily , i managed to squeeze through . Actually no matter what i have to or it will defeat the purpose of me making this special trip down . And i snapped elephants' feet like a mad woman . HAHAHAHAHA Seriously ! if someone have been noticing my camera screen throughout , he/she must be thinking that i'm totally out of my mind like a pervert ! ＞▽＜

Anyhow , i also tried to capture every possible crocodile species zoo has but apparently they were stiff like dead logs in water . Rahhhhhh ! （￣へ￣）And since i paid SGD20 entrance fee (which is not cheap TωT) , i randomly strolled around zoo to make my money more worth it till sky almost turning dark . hahahahaha .

And before i left , i bought this :

With National day promotion , this costs SGD4.60 (cause Singapore's 46 years old) instead of the usual SGD9.90 ! MORE THAN 50% OFF !!!! WOOOHOOOO ~

In the shop , i was being fickle-minded that i had a hard time making a choice . Reason being that this tail looks rather stiff and i am not really a fan of the animal leopard too . So i was actually deciding this along with squirrel and white tiger's tails . What makes me in dilemma is : squirrel's tail looks like typical foxtail shape just that it looks like a mini version but at least it's hitting the safe zone ; white tiger means white tail and white gets dirty easily , sigh ! So there's basically nothing i am 100% totally for it . And fml , i kept changing my decision and in the end still carry on with my initial choice - leopard's tail . =.=

And sooooo , i'll probably hang this on my bag which i guess is the only choice i have . If i wear it on like hook it to my shorts , i think i will look like a retard with a stiff short tail . (・´艸｀・)ﾌﾟｯ

Alright , that's all for my lonely zoo trip . hahahaha . And i am actually thinking if i would actually one day travel overseas alone one day , for leisure , since i could actually visit zoo alone . Okay la , maybe traveling alone is too much , zoo is after all not located in another city or million kilometres away from my house (Singapore is small !) .

On the net i came upon this and found it interesting to share since sushi has been all the while many people's favorites . But i guess at least 90% aren't aware about its etiquette . Me neither , other than the first two 'do's .

Did you notice that the Japanese actually care for every little details ? Especially the one about using back of chopsticks when taking food from shared plate . If it was any of us , i guess we will just ignore ! This is why i like Japanese culture . So polite and respectful . i mean lazy people like us who will actually make the extra effort to be show such table courtesy ? When we are hungry , we won't even bother about table manners etc . Right ? Right ? hehehehe .

Taiwan Trip: Day 6 Part 2 野柳 & 陽明山

So on day 6 after lunch , we headed up mountain towards 野柳 (ye liu) . Seriously , i was NOT looking forward to this location at all ! ALL ROCKS (i mean stones rocks sand those rocks) !!! =.=

But i think it's boring and retarded !

And there's also a reason why i wasn't looking forward to it . CAUSE I WAS THERE BEFORE ! And the first trip over was already zzz ! But enjoyed myself cause i was having fun taking photos with friends ! wahahahahaa .

As you can see not many photos has been shown about the place , cause me , the typical tourist , has already captured a lot during first trip and here they areeeee .

BACK TO DAY 6 ! Now next stop - 陽明山 (yang ming shan) for hot spring session but me and my mother skipped it . During my first trip , i skipped it as well ! hehehe .

But first thing that comes to my mind was hot spring at yang ming shan ? But isn't there all trees and flowers ? Cause during my first trip , i went there to see mother nature ...

But actually , there's a hot spring hotel located there ! The place is ulu ! Sadly there isn't anything outside for me to walk around like 烏來 (wu lai) . So i can only walked around and inside out of the hotel .

And guess what ? THERE'S WIFI IN THE HOTEL !!! So i spent the remaining time to be online on facebook and whatsapp to keep in touch with my dear friends over here in Singapore ! And also check-in in foursquare ! hehehe .

i know it's kinda hard to match me with floral which is such girly stuffs but now for this summer trend , i got tempted with the high-ankle transparent floral socks which has been trending around ! They look so cute ! And yes , my socks is transparent too except toes , bottom and top !

Aiya ! We only live once , be bold enough to try all styles ! And it's fun ! This is why i like dressing up ! hehehehe .

Previously i introduced デコ電卓 DecoDentaku but i found another better one . Also free but different style . デコ電卓 DecoDentaku is a hime (princess) theme while this KawaiiCalc like the name is more towards the cute theme .

Cute cause the buttons look like biscuits ! But this app doesn't provide 2 or more theme to choose from .

Comparing the functions with デコ電卓 DecoDentaku , though both similarly meets the basic needs , but there's still one difference i like about - backspace button !

Don't you have a time when you accidentally click on the wrong number on a calculator ?

The button beside the 'C' is the backspace button . So now need not to restart calculator due to such minor error .

Notice the smaller numbers with a '+' on its side ? That's the result of calculation so far in case you want to know how much you have calculated . And at the side also reveals which arithmetic operations you have chose to continue with the next set of numbers . A good thing for me since i got STM ! i always in doubt whether i have press the arithmetic operation or not . So i always ended up clicking again and again in case i didn't . ＞×＜

There's also a paid version but is the same thing just that without the advertisement banner .

Getting back to reality

Having too much holidays can be a bad thing too . Just a week back to school , we had another long holiday - weekends plus no class on Monday and adding on to National day and Founder day holidays . That's a wonderful five days break to add on to our holiday mood ! But everything has to come to an end , it's time to dug our heads into the piles of assignments and squeezing out juicy ideas . Seriously need to stop being lazy ! ＞Д＜ゞ

No more long holidays till about a month's time . But that's for us to rush whatever uncompleted or any further touching up of work . Sigh ! Hello crazy life and bye bye holidays !

ps: i edited the photo to create the tilt-shift look . it was my first try and basically for fun after i found this top view photo in one of my folders . But this effect is damn cool and cute right ? Everything IRL turns miniature !

Taiwan Trip: Day 6 Part 1 古宮, 五角船板 & ...

Early morning in Taipei , we headed to 國立故宮博物院 (National Palace Museum) . IT WAS TOTALLY EYE-OPENING !!! The trip was worth it but too short !

Strictly no photos inside was partially because flash (if you may say that camera can capture without flash but there will sure be people capture with flash) will make some items lose its quality like changing of colors .

So what's inside this museum ? Inside , you can find antiques from Song , Yuan , Tang and Qing Dynasty ! DAMN INTERESTING ! They can even categorize Chinese seal carving , weapons , vase etc into different areas ! Which means , for just one category/item , they can display a lot that were once used in the past !!!

Fyi , most items are donated by people that were past down to them from generations , hence this museum is able to come up with such huge collections . You don't have to love history to visit , just enjoy and admire the antiques that once used centuries ago , all falls in front of your eyes !

After admiring the antiques , we headed to a tea shop ! BUT when we reached , i got attracted to this shop :

it was located right next to the tea shop we were visiting ! i almost wanted to visit this bakery shop instead cause it seemed so much interesting that tea !

Cause i was too excited , i didn't capture any photos in the tea shop ! Wahahahahaha

The size of the bread sold was DAMN BIG ! Probably the size of a palm !

If you don't know or aren't aware , Uncle Sam's , a bakery shop , was opened by its local boyband 5566's oldest member , Sam Wang . He referred himself as Uncle Sam and set up this bakery shop . But sadly , all outlet were closed down this year ! That's why i used past tense ! ´꒢`

Surprisingly , i wasn't the only one who knows about this shop in my tour group . There were few gals around my age are aware of this shop too . Cause they mingled around the shop like me after visiting tea shop .

Lunch was at an interesting restaurant . Interesting due to its architecture and interior design .

Farewell to Huiyun

Finally busy gal , Huiyun , has time to date me out last Thursday (28 july) before she flies to Norway for a semester of student exchange programme ! Met up for lunch (also my breakfast and dinner XD) and OHYEAAAAA ! IT'S STRICTLY PANCAKES AGAIN ! Dined in for the second time but it was Huiyun's first time there !

Personally , i think it's at least better than plain pancakes (though i haven't tried their plain ones) .

Taiwan Trip: Day 5 Tofu Street to Taipei

On day 5 , before we headed towards Taipei , we went to 深坑 (Shen Keng) which is also known as Tofu Street .

So basically is a place everywhere selling tofu !

But tour guide told us something about buying tofu from there . i forgot what exactly the sellers will do but roughly is about them selling non-freshly cooked tofu (something like trying to sell those day before unsold ones ?) .

So is safer to get from a more recognized stalls like more to the outside/main road .

We didn't get to walk down further , so we only went there to eat tofu ! =.=

"Show" ended , and we headed towards 士林 (Shihlin) area but not to the night market first . Driving further down , we went to see the house of a historical person .

This mansion is now empty and strictly closed to outsiders ! But they are considering to exhibit it to outsiders . So , all we can do is STAND OUTSIDE THE GATE & TAKE PHOTO ! #typicaltourist

We did make a short visit to 士林夜市 (Shihlin Night Market) and the 'short' i mean is seriously short ! About an hour ? But me and my mum got a big bag of bags from a shop instead of joining the long queue for 豪大雞排 (hao da ji pai) . Cause i was there before , so i already targeted the shop ! hehehehe .

BUT , i won't go any further about this night market first . i will update about it as day 6 cause i spent more than there during the night of day 6 ! A more detailed post about Shihlin Night Market !

Steamboat for dinner ! At a random and ulu location again ! =.= Each person will have either a small pot or half a big pot to themselves ! Eat till shiok but not a lot of variety !

i miss eating 金針菇 (Enoki Mushroom) till shiok ! Cause now it will just get itself hook around my braces causing discomfort while eating ! SADDED TTM !!! π꒢π

Then booked in hotel for a good rest .

i forgot which hotel we were in but it was the next morning i realize Chia Te Bakery and 饒河夜市 (Rao He Night Market) is NEARBY ! Wasted night and we didn't leave the hotel for anywhere . Zzzzzz .

And fyi , Chia Te Bakery sells the best 鳳梨酥 (Pineapple tarts) !!! DAMN AWESOME !!! If you don't like pineapple , there's also a big range of flavors to choose from !

Canmake's falsies are rather expensive for me to wear often though they are of good quality and can last me for quite some time . So i went to Bugis Street to source for a cheaper alternative - SGD10.90 for 10 pairs ! Regretted not getting the other one which i compared with . Cause that one was like 99% the same my Canmake No.20 - same pattern and also has transparent band ! i can only blame myself for forgetting how Canmake No.20 looks like ! #STM

i was debating mentally between this and those big wire gauze before i decided with this . it was rather a good and better choice since it's small and doesn't takes up too much space . Plus if i organized all my accessories on the wire gauze like those commonly seen in Japanese's room in magazines sure collect a lot of dust . So with this , i only placed my geek specs , sunglasses and watches which i think i will use often . CAUSE if i continue to keep inside drawer , i will forever forget to wear them ! ≧艸≦

SCHOOL IS BACK !

On the first day , which is today , I ALREADY CANNOT WAIT FOR NEXT WEEK'S 3 DAYS OFF !!! #thisisbadbutiamatypicalstudent (Monday no class , Tuesday National Day , Wednesday School's Founder's Day)

Under the light , my brownish hair looks more obvious ! And my classmate , Sumaiya , commented that i have slimmed down !!!! WOOOHOOOOOO ~! DAMN HAPPY ! hahahahaha ~

And soooooooooooo , first day of school is so wonderful that i had FIVE HOURS to spare (basically ROT) ! Why 5 hours ? Cause our 9am lesson is nicely scheduled to start next week instead of this week and NO ONE notify us even on learning portal ! And we have another lesson at 2pm !

Actually , in fact , on alternate weeks of Tuesday we already have about 3 hours of break ! So since now no lesson means we had to rot for a longer time !

In the end , first day of school , i had about 1.5hours of class and 5 hours of break ! What a nice start ! (゠〰゠) And this semester i suppose gonna stress max but i just simply hope the process won't be sucky ! #prayinghardthatihaveanicepartnertoworkwith

Hair nightmare

Cause i wanted a lighter hair but in a cheaper way , i got 2 boxes of Palty Sparkling Blonde diy dye . But it was nightmare ! The color turned out sooooooo bright with my black eyebrows standing out ! Weird ttm ! Plus my mum said the dye was damn watery which results all the wasted drops on the floor and also not enough for my uber long hair . 2 box still not enough !!! =.= And so , i ended up with uneven hair color ! i think i looked like a joke too ! π꒢π

So two days later which is today , i went to a salon at Jurong East to save my hair . Actually wanted to do treatment too but i'm poor ! ´꒢` So i just did a good hair dye with a chemical as an alternative for treatment . Plus cutting off my frizzy split ends too !

Sadly , i can't dye a light color (but obviously darker than the the above color) due to my uneven hair color ! So my hair has now rewind back to the time when i had dark brown . And not cheap too !!! *heartache*

Taiwan Trip: Day 4 Towards Taichung

But before we reached Taichung , we went several places on the way . First stop for the day was Meinong Hakka Folk Village (美濃客家民俗村) .

Actually what amazed me about the place is these vintage toys and candies which they are selling . All the old stuffs we used to see when we were young . Comparing with what we have now , entertainment and snacks/packaging have really changed a lot over the years .

▲ Not someone's house la ! This place is basically shops everywhere . Selling Hakka stuffs ? (Cause i don't know about Hakka so i don't know if really everything is 100% Hakka related .)

Then we headed to some random place (which seems to be on a mountain top) for lunch . The place actually reminds me of 烏來 (wu lai) (an area where the 泰雅族 (Atayal tribe) gathered) which i went during my first trip .

After lunch , we proceeded to Sun Moon Lake (日月潭) .

▲ Tour guide said the owner of this hotel (the white building) used to never leave this place once in his life . But one day his friend sent a wedding invitation to him and usually he wouldn't attend but this time , unexpectedly , he left this place and attended the wedding . Coincidentally on that day , a disaster happened and everything in this place was screwed up except his hotel plus he was safe too . And people thought must be the creature (i think is a deer ?) that was placed on the cashier counter protected him (on the religion's superstition point of view) .

And so since that day , visitors will go specially see the creature (and touch it too ?) on the counter hoping to bring some blessing to them . #superstition

Tour guide brought us up to the highest rooftop at the temple . Climbed a lot of stairs and walked through many building .

Wanna cry ! We were so far back and need to walk the same amount of stairs' steps to reach the front gate again .

For the next stop , it was 逢甲夜市 (Feng Jia Night Market) . Cause i was too excited about shopping so didn't have any photos of the place . i was rather shock when i realize . Seriously ZERO photos !!! *stun face*

Anyhow , it's another cheap shopping spot . i got a black fox tail for less than SGD10 ! Cheap right ?! How i wish i got more time to shop there cause the place is seriously big !!!! &&&&& ALOT OF HANDSOME GUYS !!!! hehehehe

But to compare with Kaohsiung Night Market , i think Kaohsiung's cheaper !

Next was to head over hotel for dinner . But day hasn't ended . Cause ... there's a departmental store just next to the hotel !!!! DAMN SHIOK !!! (Cause it means i got place to shop and is only one small road across !) The departmental store is called 愛買 (A. Mart) . And tour guide said there's a shop - 春水堂 (Chun Shui Tang) - inside 愛買 (A. Mart) which made the first milk tea but i don't know how true since there's no prove of it . But since i'm fan of milk tea , MUST TRY ! hehehehe .

But i've got say i've already forgot how it tastes like . SORRY ! But i think it isn't too bad since it didn't leave me any negative impression . Anyhow , different people taste food differently , so why not judge it for yourself if you happen to visit/pass by any of its outlet in Taiwan .

There's also a big supermarket (like Singapore's Giant) in the departmental store . So , before heading back to hotel , i got myself some chocolates and instant noodles . Taiwan's instant noodles is a big thumbs up compared to what we have in Singapore . They have real meat packed inside the bowl of instant noodles ! (Y)

And that's all for day 4 . Time flies really fast that on the next post will include Taipei . Yes , day 5 was the day we headed back to Taipei . More excitement ! ^^

Zhanwang's 22nd Celebration

it's actually been some time since we gathered for a meal ever since the 21st special celebration (99% at chalet) starts trending this year . But of course , this time round isn't just an usual gathering but to celebrate Zhanwang's 22nd . Wenjing organized it at Holland V's Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao and we had xiao long bao buffet + steamboat .

i've actually heard about this xlb buffet + steamboat since last year but haven't had the chance to dine in . Plus dining there isn't easy like their other outlets cause it's always full house ! And unlucky me , the day we dined in was my second day wearing braces - weak teeth ! #wasted

i wonder how many know 'gal' is the English word for Japanese word 'gyaru (ギャル)' . Cause it's quite a common word in Singapore BUT may highly recognize as a twit word (eg. gurl , boi , euu , mii , okie , harts , lurb etc) which it has mixed into . If you think gal also means girl , you are wrong cause girl is gaaru (ガール) !

Since i'm on the topic of gyaru online , i'm gonna share another site too . But it isn't so much about gyaru but rather , fashion trends in Tokyo .

Many should have heard about Tokyo Kawaii especially through Xiaxue and Cheesie who have been filmed by the team . But the problem will always be - the show isn't available in Singapore , so where can i watch ?

So now , i'm gonna answer you ! i've actually always been watching Tokyo Kawaii and got addicted because this Japanese blogger has been embedding the episodes on her site . Though the video isn't translate with sub , but the blogger is nice enough to do a summary of what's going on in English . Plus Tokyo Kawaii is actually interesting to watch even if you don't understand what they say . But of course , the blogger's summaries do help a lot with the understanding .

Good things doesn't come easily . As a result , the episodes are not that updated . But to think on a brighter side , at least now we can watch the episodes with better understanding through the summaries . Unless , there's someone who knows and willing to share a website that embed/post the show with subtitles and even more updated .

Mobile Expense Tracker - Toshl

For someone like me who likes to do shopping (often on unnecessary stuffs) and spends a lot on school materials , i feel that it is useful to have somewhere to record all expenses . By doing this , you will know where all your money has flown to . And at a certain point of time , you will be amazed by the amount you spent ! REALLY !

But must really be hardworking enough to record every single thing , then it will meet its purpose . Maybe missed out a few expenses (not within a day) isn't much a big deal . So , it must be something that is convenient to bring out right ?

An expenditure book may be what many records on . But to me , there will be days i will start to be lazy to bring out and also impossible for me to record while outside . So i chose to record with an app since my handphone will definitely be with me anytime anywhere .

Yes , i use Toshl !

In fact , i have tried many such related apps but many don't meet my needs ! Most of them are just for you to record how much you spent , but didn't let you record where you spend as well . Without knowing where my money has flown to , i would say strategy fail ! #defeatpurpose

Toshl , like most apps , allows users to see their total expenses and also daily expenses ! So this part i have nothing to share further .

But in this app , users can create many many tags for that one expense ! Some apps can only have a tag/category for that one expense which i don't like !

On the create page can see tags that are created before .

And reason why i prefer more tags is like , example for school , i spend quite a lot in Fancy Paper and Art Friend . As a result , i want to find out how much i have spent in this 2 shops as well as the total i have spent for school (cause in the end i will still need to get other miscellaneous stuffs needed for school) .

Another example , more closely to gals , is categorizing shopping expenses like creating tags for Watson , Canmake , Majolica Majorca , etc . This way i can track how much i have spent in total in Watson as well as for the following brands .

Useful right ? hehehehe

Yes , good thing is the data can be recorded and saved into Toshl server . Means can check them online too ! (Cause using Toshl needs an account but free for sure !)

Taiwan Trip: Day 3 高雄 Part 2

Sky has turned dark like Singapore's about 8-9pm onwards . But actually in Taiwan , darkness appear earlier than Singapore . Arriving at our third destination in Kaohsiung , it was about 6pm !

Need to cross the road to destination ! But heavy traffic !!! #jaywalk

Yes , we got the chance to have a ride on a boat along 愛河 (ai he / Lover River) . Like Taipei's 漁人碼頭 (yu ren ma tou) , there's 情人橋 (Lover's bridge) . And Kaohsiung has Lover River .

Actually during my first trip , tour guide told us about it . i didn't expect that i would be there but it was unexpectedly boring . Everywhere everything is in darkness , i couldn't see anything unless there's lights shining on ! #wastemoneyandtime

Got this cause it was trendy for winter season back then . #typicaltrendfollwer And Singapore don't sell such boots too . Plusssssssss NT300 ONLY !!! Means it only cost about SGD13 !

During my trip , i was seeking for 50嵐 (50lan) too ! They are the original of Singapore's KOI ! And they don't bring in milk tea with (egg) pudding , so die die must drink while in Taiwan ! i was sooooooo excited when i finally found the shop !

Booked in to another hotel which is located at an ulu location . But i still insisted to go out and walk around . Since we were already outside Singapore , why sleep early ? Agree ?

But seriously the place is so ulu . Nothing nice to shop ! Nearby is like some super old abandon street and even have to walk past a wet market (obviously closed at night) .

Howeverrrrrr , miraculously i managed to get a top from an old uncle . And the plus thing is IT'S A TRENDY TOP (also during that winter season) ! A nordic print long sleeve top !

NT100 !!! Means about SGD4 !!! Where got such good deal in Singapore ? In my opinion , Kaohsiung fashion stuffs are seriously cheap !

Actually before flying to Taiwan , i did ask my Kaohsiung friend to recommend places to go . Though i didn't manage to visit these places , but i shall still share here (cause next time i can still refer in case i lost my records) .

Liuhe Night Market isn't the only night market in Kaohsiung . Basically it's a tourist attraction spot so is common for tour agencies to bring groups over plus is near the train station .

The other night market is 瑞豐夜市 (Rui Feng Night Market) . According to my friend , Ruifeng Night Market is more for the locals or rather more locals patronize there . And the night market also has more variety of clothes and accessories . For food , she recommended 勿必烈 (wu bi lie / is actually a mixed vegetable dish) , 全家福牛排 (quan jia fu niu pai) , 月亮蝦餅 (yue liang song bing) and 鬆餅先生 (song bing xian sheng) .

The third night market is 新崛江夜市 (Xin Jue Jiang Night Market) but my friend said it is more like 西門町 (Xi Men Ding) rather than a night market .

Andddddddd finally that's all for Kaohsiung ! Ohya ! And the day i was at Kaohsiung was Christmas Eve , so the next post gonna be about my 2010 Christmas day - journey heading towards Taichung ! (٨ ⍵ ٨)〳♥

Taiwan Trip: Day 3 高雄 Part 1

Like the title , on Day 3 we headed to 高雄(Kaohsiung) ! And it reminds me of a song about Kaohsiung by 宇宙人 (yu zhou ren) .

Like so high right to go Kaohsiung ? And Kaohsiung seems to be another hot spot other than the Taiwan's most advanced city , Taipei . Yes ? No ? Actually i got no idea yes or no . i just feel like it is . Maybe cause i heard quite a lot about Kaohsiung other than Taipei ?

Anyhow , long bus trip again till butt cracked still haven't reached ! And i think the bus did drive past 小林村 (xiao ling cun) where the 88 Taiwan typhoon and flood occurred in 2009 (but not too sure cause i don't know where is the exact location) . Flat piece of land with debris scattering around ! π﹏π If you want a clear picture of the after scenario , watched 's behind the scene !

Enough of the sad part of South Taiwan .

i forgot was it before we left hotel or during toilet break before settling at a random restaurant for lunch , i saw an overdue event banner on a bus .

But who cares ?! Cause my focus is :

Continue bus ride to a random restaurant for lunch . Seriously random cause it's situated at an ulu location . Like on the deserted highway out of no where there's stores/restaurants . Get it ? But this will never happen or be seen in this small country !

After lunch , continued our journey towards Kaohsiung ! In total wasted about 5 damn hours just to get there ON THE BUS . From morning traveled till almost late noon though with breaks in between . Totally wasting 5 hours of my precious time at overseas ! OVERSEAS leh ! zzzz ttm ! #thatswhyihatetour

Next destination is 高雄85大樓 (Kaohsiung 85 da lou / Tuntex Sky Tower) . Taipei has 101 , Kaohsiung has 85 !

The Chinese characters out the building is actually the name of the hotel ! The building is also part of a hotel . Heard from tour guide singers will stay inside whenever there's concert in Kaohsiung . And during that time , the streets around the hotel will be flooded with fans ! But i don't know how true since i don't live there nor experience it !

Kaomoji (顔文字) Apps

Sometimes iphone emoji (絵文字) seems boring or don't bring out the expression we wanna show , so this is when kaomoji (顔文字) comes into the picture . If you don't know , kaomoji is expressions using punctuations , characters , symbols , numbers and/or language scripts .

So today i'm gonna share 2 kaomoji apps . One is a kaomoji dictionary (means consist tons of kaomoji to copy from) and another is a kaomoji maker .

i'll start with girl's顔文字辞典5000 which means girl's kaomoji dictionary 5000 ! Not sure if there's really 5000 kaomoji but definitely provides more than enough for users to use since it's a kaomoji dictionary ! Whole app filled with kaomoji for greetings , celebrations , expressions , etc ! Shiok or not ?! ^艸^

And yes , FREE APP ! hehehehe

The front page fills with many many categories within categories but sadly all in Japanese especially for those who totally cant read the characters . But you can try to do try-and-error ! ＞×＜

And when you click into any categories , you will see a long list of kaomoji !

Just click on your preferred kaomoji and it will be copied to system .

Actually i don't know to blog this or not but i just post it anyway cause i wasted 1 hour of my life to just queue at its ION Orchard outlet just to have dinner ! First time dining ! And worse thing is - i'm on braces , so whole time having food stuck and trying to remove food particles from braces with my tongue . As a result , i neglected the wonderful taste of these authentic Japanese food . FMLTTM !

i went there and wasted an hour to queue cause this meetup is Miss Pan organize . Miss Chua was late so she didn't have to queue ! ＞꒢＜ Ohyea , and on the way over with Miss Pan we even faced train delay problem due to another faulty train . #wastemoretime What a day ! (´Д`)

i should have used some other photos to test out , but i was too excited while trying the app . And before i realize , i already uploaded all screenshots on photobucket . So don't anyhow repost hor ! ´艸`

Though i have been hearing about 美图秀秀 (mei tu xiu xiu) for some time , but i was rather lazy to download it . To me , before i started exploring the app , it seems to be #justanotherphotographyapp . BUT NOW , i'm totally amuse that in a free app it can consist many features which often developed in separate apps (or maybe there is similar but need to pay) . This is like 3in1 /4in1 photography app ! Shiok ! #savememoryspace Totally worth sharing ! （●＾∪＾●）

But this app is from China and is all developed in Chinese , as a result non-Chinese may have trouble figuring how to use the app . So i'll try to translate/guide as much as i can while reviewing the contents .

Cute right ? Cute right ? SGD2 from Plaza Singapura Daiso ! i initially wanted the mint color with white polka dots cause match my style more but the tray is designed like a box without the top . That means i die die have to squeeze all my dishes into the limited space (Daiso trays are already small to start with) , impossible to protrude slightly out of the tray like what this floral tray can .

It was basically a one day / one moment decision which i told my mum ! i even told her to quickly go find before i regret and don't want to do it already . ≧艸≦ Oh , and i'm lucky that i didn't have to extract out 4 teeth BUT it isn't confirm that i really don't have to extract . i have to wait till 6-8 months later to see how's the alignment of my teeth .

SO NOW , i have eating difficulties ! ´Д` i'm still not used to having food stuck inside my braces while munching but this isn't the worse that causes it - my teeth are feeling sour ! And sooooo , me now can't eat food that needs many many forces to chew ! it will take me forever to make that one bite ! π﹏π #sadlifewithbraces Ohya ! i ate my favorite Enokitake mushroom (金針菇) and it got stuck in my braces which made me have a hard time trying to get it off ! Very uncomfortable feeling ! π﹏π i wonder how am i going to survive the 2 years . #hopetogetusedtoitsoon

Taiwan Trip: Day 2 民族風

Seriously , i don't know what to name this post so i just anyhow but is something along the line - about Taiwan's aborigines . However , gonna be more photos than words cause i don't know what to talk about them . And i also don't really know about the different tribes and history , so i'll just shut up in case i provide wrong information .

And so , after alighting the choo-choo train , we took a long bus ride up the mountain to 太魯閣 (tai lu ge) ! The ride was creepy though it was a good weather . FYI , no vehicles are allowed to drive up if predicted bad weather cause it gonna be dangerous unless at own risk ! Roads will be closed ! Falling rocks and soil erosion etc means SURE DIE ! But upon looking out of the bus window is already scary enough , you can see how high up you were on the mountain and the road is NARROW !!! >0<

Behind story of the road (told by tour guide but i don't know how true):
Actually the road is man-made and also force-to-be-made ! Cause it was said to be dangerous to build roads but a man refused to listen and designed the roads and started building it . But the problem is everyone back then knew it's dangerous to build , if go and help out SURE DIE . So he got those prisoners who were sentenced for life and gave them a choice . If they willing to help and managed to survive till the end of the construction , they would be freed . Means no more being stuck in jail ! So they thought since they were going to die in jail why not give a try instead . Through the process , as mentioned it was a dangerous project , many died ! And the designer of the road also died even before the whole construction was completed - he was went the mountain one night to check the construction and got killed by a falling rock . The designer got a partner with him on this project , so his partner helped him to complete and see the final result which is what we see now .

Like i've mentioned , i don't know how true this is cause i can't find the exactly history about it . And i know what i typed seems so summarized . Okay la , i admit i'm not a good storyteller ! ´⦁꒢⦁` BUT BUT BUT , the fact that many died is true ! According to my google result , it says more than 200 died ! π艸π

▲ Tour guide said this spring water is cleaner and fresher than what we have cause it flows down from the mountain . #mothernature

▲ These rocks are actually fallen rocks , so you can imagine how dangerous the place can be during a bad weather .

▲ This place is famous for its coffee cause it's mixed with spring water . #iforgothowittastelikealready

▲ BLAND ! This bamboo rice 100% wasn't heated for long before being served !

㎰. bamboo rice that all heated for very very very long is damn nice !!! Cause you can totally feel the difference between got the bamboo taste or not ! i ate before that's why i know ! #iwasjusttooluckytohaveitbackthen ^艸^

But the sad thing is (i suppose most of the time) you can't choose or don't have the option to choose ! Cause they usually sell them away faster than the rice absorb the taste from bamboo . Sigh !

Enough of Mother Nature scenery (actually is all mountains) , we headed to the next location !

Actually this whole range of performance is basically just a show by the performers to tell us the different aborigines . Not by real aborigines lo ! At first i thought i'm gonna be seeing real aborigines performing (like sitting around the campfire and watch them dance #toomuchdrama) but ended up is just a show by hired performers ! The way they dance can prove so ! If is by real aborigines , you can feel their enthusiasm through their dance steps . But maybe there are still some real aborigines in the performing group .

And watching the performance was our last stop for the day ! We basically wasted a lot of time traveling on the bus ! Damn sian ! Dinner was in Park View Hotel at Hualien (花蓮) , also the hotel we stayed for the night . We had buffet ! おいしい〜

You are not in the wrong month/festive/in your own world/in fantasy . Correct , now is month of June ! HAHAHA . Cause my trip was during Merry Christmas period ! And now ? Already past so many calendar holidays me then start blogging about it ! ＞×＜

The hotel is located at a ulu place , so we didn't have anywhere we can go outside the hotel . But we were told that there were many facilities to play and enjoy , so explore ourselves . Apparently , only the arcade and souvenir shop are the only place we (my family) can go to . There's actually really a lot of facilities like squash court , rock climbing , bowling , gym etc but who the hell go overseas to relax will go and exercise ?! =.=

But luckily every hotel room got wifi ! Damn shiok if not i gonna rot ! *insert whatsapp , instgram , etc* Before i end this post , i shall share a photo i snapped the next morning 6.58AM while having breakfast . ^^

Irritating and never ending

i feel i'm back to square one again .

Ever since my mum saw results slip with just-passed-grades , she has been trying to brainwash me to quit studying design and move on to business path . i thought this topic has ended last year but it seems to be back again and require me to re-decide my choice once again . yes , once again ! damn !

i seriously want to quit thinking about this and continue with what i have now . How i wish i can have a choice of doing what i want and allow to fight till the last chapter . Actually after a year of being messed up with school , it has seriously made me think if i can survive in the future career years . But the thing is i just started it ! Who knows i will improve and get better ? But ... what if i didn't ?

Seriously , i don't like serious office style of work . i prefer jobs i can enjoy at the same time but sadly , these jobs seem to be rather hard to earn big bucks . That's what my mum now brainwashing me ! She keeps repeating herself since very very long time ago about my relatives who studied and worked in business line are earning big bucks with high bonuses . i seriously hate to face the cruelty of reality in Singapore where job opportunities are not as much as overseas . Design/media jobs can earn big bucks too but reality is you must have a marvelous creative skills or have an outstanding years of experience or a name for yourself .

My mum also mentioned if i don't do well in my second year , i have to return the sum of school fees money to my dad after third year and start working ! zzz totally wtf ! Every time likes throw bad remarks to me rather than giving me more confidence ! =.=

But if i change to business studies , i don't know what to study ! i don't want to studying accounting !!! And i also scare all the business theory will make me go numb ! π﹏π On the other , who knows i may be better on this field and can/will do well ?

i'm totally stuck . Standing at nowhere ! ＞Д＜ i think i can never escape this problem till i have a job with good income ! zzzz Honestly , who doesn't want to earn big bucks and lead a good life ? But is chances don't come easily - need time and big sum of money !

Sighhhhhhhhhhhhh ~

Don't know if i should quit design and join the typical route , which i have no idea what is it about . But i think most schools have already started and have to wait for new academic year which gonna be next year i suppose .

Or quit design and work in the business line first before joining business courses .

Or quit everything and set up my own fashion business .

Or basically just continue from where i am now (studying design) and try my best . But on a side note , my current school fees is heavy without any government subsidize . So , if seriously continuing means there will be no way back to change my decision in future since already paid a bomb for it .

Taiwan Trip: Day 2 九份 & 火車

And now , i'm finally continuing about my taiwan trip(s) ! hehehehe ^艸^ So on day 2 , our first station was 九份 (jiu fen) ! i simply loves this place cause of the damn awesome food only available there ever since my first trip there . ♥

The timings i went were funny/weird/ridiculous too - first time i went was quite late while the second time was too early . =.= So basically the first time i went , when i was about to leave , almost all shops are closed . Then the second time i arrived , almost all shop are still closed . You can also say i've seen them open shop and close shop . ＞×＜

★ This is what you will see if you walk all the way up to the top of jiufen ! Another note , jiufen is located distances away from the taipei city .

★ It becomes a famous place due to the movie 《悲情城市》/ (1989) which was filmed here .

★ This is a die die must have back at that moment of time ! Cause we were bloody freezing in the cold rain (back then was winter turning summer but weather will still be freezing cold when raining) , hence we needed something hot/warm !

In jiufen , the must-eat-dish gonna be 芋圓 (yu yuan) . DAMN AWESOME OKAY ?! So chewy !!! Better than the inspired (hahahhaha) ones in Singapore !

★ This bowl of yu yuan is from the first store that sells yu yuan when walking up the streets . Actually that time they already closing , but when they realized we were tourists and haven't tried before they made a bowl for us ! i supposed those are kept for themselves . (There's also a little behind story . Part of the memory with her . π﹏π)

This bowl we tried the soup/syrup is the grass jelly drink .

★ On my first trip , i walked up the streets with Wenjing and Zhanwang . We didn't give up , so we walked up further and we found this ! THE TRADITIONAL BEST YU YUAN !!!! (^ɜ^)-♥♥♥

This is the one i love max !!! MUST EAT !!! *thumbs up* If i didn't remember wrongly , there's a choice of served hot or cold . Both times i ordered hot cause winter season ! =.= But for this i got idea/forgot what the soup/syrup is . i think is 甜水/湯 !

On my second trip , i wanted to buy uncooked yu yuan home lo but the uncle say cannot cause must cook and finish by night time ! And the problem is i won't be home until days after ! Aiyoooo 〜 ´●꒢●`

And now , i'm missing the chewiness of this best yu yuan i ever eaten ! ＞Д＜

Ohya , on my second trip , the tour guide never mention a single thing about yu yuan lo ! Or if he did , that means he NEVER introduced anything about which yu yuan outlet is the best etc ! But when i was dining , another group of fellow Singaporeans was brought there by their tour guide ! Damn not fair lo ! If i hadn't know about this food/shop , i would have totally missed it !!!

Of course , not to forget the super traditional interior of the shop's dining area ! And i think near evening time the place will look nicer with lighted lanterns . Got the olden days feel ! ^艸^

★ Can see the 李儀餅店 ? i think it has the best 奶油太陽餅 (nai you tai yang bing) ! Normally such shops sells taiyangbing instead of nai you tai yang bing , but i think nai you tai yang bing is so much nicer ! The nai you is so heavenly !!! ♥

And according to feedback from my friends , this outlet ONLY nai you tai yang bing is nice ! The rest *ahem*cannot make it*ahem* !

This outlet is located opposite 7-11 store . Actually this area is also at the "front door" of jiufen . So is not hard to find ! From what i have seen , it seems tour guides won't bring their group of tourists to that shop ! They bring to where they think is the best or where they can earn some profit . And so , tourists often missed out the best out of the best even when the place is so near them and actually they don't know ! ꉺДꉺ

And now back to my second trip day 2 ! After jiufen , we went somewhere but i don't know where (taoyuan ?) for lunch first before taking the choo-choo train over to 花蓮 (hualien) .

At the train station ! Seriously is those old kind of train stations ! Since now Taiwan has 高鐵 (high speed rail) , not many take such trains already . Unless on budget ! Cause this one is cheaper than high speed rail .

★ Outside the station .

★ In Taiwan , mountain is the most common scenery ! it's EVERYWHERE !!!

★ it says i'm at 羅東 station but i got no idea where this place is and this place got what . Totally looks like an ulu place to me ! XD

★ Very vintage right ? ^×^

★ After all the inside of the train not as vintage as i thought ! Everything looks quite new ! i was looking forward experiencing with the interior like those in old movies . #toomuchmovies

★ Model/actress 蔣怡 on the back of every chair . No idea who she is ? Recall 籃球火 & 泡沫之夏 ! ^^

★ Sea view is another common scenery during traveling in Taiwan !

★ So quiet and ulu ! ＞艸＜

★ Walking out of the station , i noticed this ! Doesn't it look like Singapore Esplanade ? ^艸^

It means Deco Calculator . Hime gyraru (princess gal)'s favourite ! ^^ But it's not a physical product . Cause it's an app for iphone ! And yes , another #freeapp ! ♥

Actually i have been using this for very long time . Almost as long as the age of my iphone ! Isn't this looking so much cute and prettier than the phone's default calculator ?

By clicking the heart shape button , it will navigate you to choose the theme of you choice .

Though there's only 3 color theme , but at least better than nothing right ? All still look super bling in its 2D form !

Function wise i've got nothing to comment about since it's like any other typical basic calculator . But seriously , most of the time we are only required to do simple calculation like divide to check each person pay how much , total spend how much , what is the price after discount etc . Unless you tell me you use sin cos tan during your shopping trip ! ≧×≦

OPI Blue Shatter

Ever since i know about this amazing shatter thing , i have been tempting to get one and try ! The result simply looks so chio after just one application ! What an easy diy nail art 〜! 〵^∀^〳 But shatter lacquer isn't cheap OR if is cheap (but also won't be cheap like less than 5bucks) , it won't be easy to get/find . ＞꒢＜

Actually i also don't know what struck me to get this OPI shatter lacquer at Robinsons which costs SGD23.55 . Maybe it was too tempting as it sat on the top shelves . ^艸^ But i'm glad i got it !!! Cause during payment , i was then realized that there was 20% off (don't know was it storewide sales) plus absorbed GST ! So in the end i saved about 5bucks !!! Wooohoooo〜 ^∀^∨ #cheapdeal

AND SO , this OPI Blue Shatter lacquer is one of the new (blue) range released recently and it's my FIRST bottle of OPI ! ≧∀≦

★ OPI released 3 tones of blue shatter and this is the mid-tone ! The other 2 colors are turquoise and navy blue .

★ i was too excited to try this new toy , so i just applied on my already-polished-nails . And the blue shatter looks matte without any top coat on it . Actually there's also tiny little glittering in the blue too , so is not 100% matte .

★ With top coat , the blue looks much striking .

Although the result looks pretty but i find it hard to apply . Cause it dries fast and creates particles on the brushes making it harder to apply . Plus thinner the layer the more shattered it will be (of course nicer too) , so need to control the amount on the brush too . If the layer is too thick , it won't shatter much and will end up almost like apply a normal lacquer . ´●꒢●`

Nevertheless , it's my new nail art toy now ! hehehehehe ^艸^

Picnic Day

In a group of 20 , we had a picnic and kite flying session last Saturday for the first time . i'm glad after graduating for a year i'm still close with my cscc peeps . (^ɜ^)ゞ♡ Cause is really hard to have a big group of friends still as close and continue having outings together after graduation .

Everyone brought food for the picnic . In the end , we had more than enough and had many leftovers at the end of the day .

♡ In the exhibition hall to cool ourselves down with the super shiok aircon ! ^艸^ But that day , the sun was really blazing hot !

♡ ... the guys got interested too !

So end up our area was like a mini fortune-teller stall except that it wasn't open to public . XD Cause we referred from a book Weimin brought and everyone started reading the pages of their results , i think passerby would be thinking "waaa this group of youngsters so hardworking , come all the way to Marina Barrage to read a book !" hahahahaha

Country Road in Japanese Version

OMG ! i just found out Country Road has a Japanese Version ! And to my surprise , it was a soundtrack for a film called Whispers of the Heart by Studio Ghibli 16 years ago ! Studio Ghibli rewrote the lyrics to Japanese !

Anyhow , it's still a nice addictive classic piece ! *on repeat-mode* ^艸^

Sentimental Circus twippa

i was randomly browsing itunes store on my phone when i saw this ultra cute twitter app ! And it's free !!! hehehehe (=^x^=) The designs are all seriously super cute la ! Even the icons ! ♡

(The time on the tweets doesn't match with the time on my phone cause i scrolled to the part where it doesn't reveal any of my followers personal tweets .)

♡ This free app comes with a pack of 3 theme designs to choose from . Shiok or not ?! hahahaha

And yes , twippa does have versions for san-x and sanrio characters BUT THEY AREN'T FREE !!! ＞꒢＜ Anyhow , other than the cute design , i would say there is nothing to wow about for its function . Everything is just basic . Oh ! You can also have multiple accounts on the app if you do have more than one twitter account .

It also has cute decoration / greeting banners for tweeting purpose but i would say is useless unless your friends are using twippa as well . Cause when i tested and viewed on tweetdeck on my labtop , it just shows a full image link (like http://abc.com/xyz.jpg) . =＿=ǁ

♡Love : The cute design and is also easy to use .
☠Hate : A bit lag in showing latest tweets if not having good connection . Then if i'm on the all tweets page before i close the app , when i reopen it will show the same page and stone there . it won't auto-update new ones unless at top pull down to refresh .

♡♥♥♥ i've been seeking for this ever since i knew the existence of such nail polish dispenser ! it's commonly seen in nail parlor ! And so yea , i finally found it available in SASA . NO MORE MESS ! ^^

㎰. The white lace sticker around the brim is pasted by me . it doesn't come with the dispenser .

♡♥♥♥ Actually i have been purchasing this nose strip from Watson for damn long already ever since Daiso "upgrade" its awesome nose strips to a useless tube . it really works !!! i always stick them around my face too other than nose and manage to remove many many (invisible) whiteheads and blackheads . Damn shiok ! ^艸^

㎰. After peeling off , must remember to close your pores !

♡♥♥♥ Gel Volume by CANMAKE was released recently . i hesitated to buy or not at first cause it's quite pricey but i'm glad i did !!! After applying layers of coats , my nails has become thicker and seriously look like gel nails ! Totally love the thickness and volume on my nails as i have thin and weak nails which chips off easily ! Best of all , it's a top coat !!! No need troublesome procedures to apply and remove like gel nails has ! & i hope it helps my nails to grow longer safely too ! ^艸^ hehehe

♡♥♥♥ i've got these at 3 for SGD20 ! Quite a good deal from Watson ! And because of these 3 , i can has chio gradient nails easily ! Seriously easy !!!

The center color (whitish silver) used as base then use one of their Colorful Nails with big glitters (i think small glitters works too but i find that small glitters are too common not worth buying) as your chosen color - either apply :
1 coat on 1/2 nail , then 1 more coat on 1/4 nails
OR
1 coat on 3/4 nail , 1 more coat on 1/2 nails , then 1 last coat on 1/4 nails .

㎰. Actually i'm not sure if any nail polish works cause i was too amazed by the 3 for SGD20 deal ! ≧∀≦ Maybe i shall try with my FaceShop nail polish one day ! ^^

♡♥♥♥ i'm not sure about the new lash care essence if it really works wonders , but i think it does ? Cause previously i used their eye lash essence (which is the old version no longer available) and especially my lower lashes have really grown !!! And the best thing is the result miraculously shown the next morning after my first application !

㎰. Even if not growing in an obvious state , it can still be used to take care of your lashes like applying it as mascara base .

First Prawning Experience

Finally another outing last Sunday with my darling gals after i-dont-remember-how-long ! So yea , we had a SEAFOOD DAY ! 〵(^∀^)〳

❮▲❯ Prawning at Jurong Hill ! Actually no difference where the location is cause it's my first time prawning !!! Not easy but shiok ! hehehe ^艸^

❮▲❯ The first prawn caught ! But it managed to escape when peng accidentally dropped the net into the water ! Cause we moved to a new location to sit , so she was trying to hook the net to the pole or whatever-that-thing-is-called again . Luckily only 1 prawn ! ^艸^

❮▲❯ Total 6 prawns caught ! We were so lucky that just when we were about to leave , peng/hua caught a prawn !

How to do Polka Dots Nails

Pink and blue nails ! Cute or too cute ?! ♡艸♡

Truthfully , there's also nothing much to teach about how to do such cute nails . i think polka dot design is the easiest as long as you have the right color match and right tool used !

Recently while blog hoping , i came across photos which shows similar tool to do polka dots manicure ! Surprisingly , this tool looks soooooooooo familiar to me and probably to most handicraft designers too ! In my mind i was thinking , "isn't that embossing tool ?" . Yea , they look EXACTLY the same at the tip just that their handles are made of plastic(?) while mine is made of wood !

i'm not sure if such tool is sold separately in cosmetic stores (though i haven't seen one in such shops) but for sure , this can be found in an art material store called Art Friend in Singapore !

Whatever if both mine and others' are of different purpose , the tips are still the same ! In Art Friend , i got it in a packet with different sizes at tip . *i used the largest , dip into the nail polish bottle/use the brush to "transfer" some drips over to the tip , dotted over the plainly colored over nails and tah-dah ! DONE !*

This is the pink i used in the first image . i think the color looks pretty ! it is actually reddish pink . Cause i dislike pink , so i usually won't get any color related or near pink but this broke my record !!!

And i think this is one of Canmake's 2011 S/S collection nail color and limited edition too ! *hint hint* hehehehe ~

Been seriously lazy to blog recently as dramas have caught all my attention these few weeks ! i won't be surprised if i have completed 10 dramas ! ＞×＜ Hmm , i think i shall list out !

So in total i completed 8 dramas ! But that's still a lot lo ! Plus in between 2 uncompleted dramas - Face Maker (Japanese) and URAKARA (Japanese/Korean) .

For Face Maker (Japanese) , i left few episodes unwatched cause didn't manage to download while for URAKARA (Japanese/Korean) i only watched few episodes cause TOO BORING ! (No offense to KARA fans !)

i think i either too zai or no life already ! Zzzz ...

Okay , enough of dramas ! i'm gonna share my recently awesome buy through online store ! hehehe ~

Bunny iphone case & it's in purple too !!! 〵♡ɜ♡〳 So now my casing has grown 2 ears and 1 fluffy tail ! hehehehe ^艸^

i'm so glad i didnt get any in local stores which sells typically about the same few variety of colors ! Boringgggg ~ And the prices are about double the price i paid !!! i bought this SGD$13 including registered postage ! Okay la , maybe not be the cheapest for this design but at least is half price of market price and is in purple ! ≧∀≦

Taiwan Trip: Day 1 漁人碼頭, 淡水老街 & 西門町

Back blogging about Taiwan ! Though it has been months since i returned and a number have already traveled and back from there , but i dont care la ! i'll just blog about it . In months/years to come , it may be my reference if i forgot about the little stuffs i did there (actually i already forgot most of the details ^艸^) .

And i can't believe till so long i'm still in Day 1 of my second trip ! ＞Д＜ Looks like i've got too much to share ! Anyhow , this post gonna be about 漁人碼頭 (yu ren ma tou) , 淡水老街 (dan shui lao jie) & 西門町 (ximending) . i also added photos from my first trip ! ^^

♡ ❝ And so i'm back to this place called 漁人碼頭 again with this famous 情人橋 (Lover's bridge) ! ❞

And Lover's bridge actually has 99steps ! Which also means for couple , to last long (99＝久久) !

♡ ❝ Taiwan's ufo catcher is awesome ! Not that the machine is different but the service !!! The staffs are so willing to help you adjust the position ! And if you have spent a certain amount and still didnt manage to catch it , they will give it to you ! Or , you can buy it straight ! The amounts are all written and stuck to every machine ! ❞

In Singapore where got such good deal ?! sighhhh ~

♡ ❝ Actually the arcade not that big . It's just a small and simple one ! ❞

♡ ❝ Just outside the arcade there's snacks stores / little cafe for you to grab some bites . ❞

Nearby 漁人碼頭 is 淡水老街 (Tamshui Old Street) ! The stuffs sold there are cheap too !!! Abit like Shihlin Night Market just that over there the area is combination food and shopping unlike Shihlin Night Market is separated into 2 areas - food and shopping !

I didnt really get to shop the whole area of (Tamshui Old Street) before but from what I saw it seems quite a big area and can be a cheap and trendy shopping place !

And due to time constraint again , i didnt get to walk/eat a lot . But at least i managed to shop a stretch of street ! hehehehe ! But hor , I still think could get many stuffs over there if i had the time then ! ):

Heading to Tamshui Old Street , we went to dine in Bigtom , an ice-cream shop like Hagen-Daz , Ben & Jerry , etc . And if you have watched the Taiwan drama , 海派甜心 , the icecream shop that was filmed is one of Bigtom's outlet !

♡ ❝ Right bottom one is mine ! But i already forgot what i ordered ! But i think it's nice ! Good quality ice cream ! If i didnt remember wrongly , it doesn't melt easily and will like "stretch" a bit ! ❞

♡ ❝ Outside view . Actually this building belongs to Bigtom ! Nice place to slack ! Plus i suppose if sitting at the rooftop sea breeze can be felt since it's by the side only ! ❞

Actually on the way walking down Tamshui Old Street , we got stuck in another arcade with the ufo catcher again ! We spent some time catching ! & I CAUGHT A STITCH ! hehehehe

Walking through several streets and missed many possible shops to shop due to time constraint , we went to 阿婆鐵蛋 shop straight , a famous 鐵蛋 shop in Tamshui (特產) ! Tour guide told us one thing which i didnt notice - the ah ma was sitting inside the shop and at the back is a big photo of her with the 鐵蛋 ! So apparently , she was the one who made/invented it !

♡ ❝ Another famous food in Tamshui Old Street (but i dont know which shop is the best , all looks the same .) ! ❞

♡ ❝ There's a Metro Station nearby ! So it seems quite convenient to get to this place ! ❞

And next up is XIMENDING !!! The youth paradise for youngsters to hang out and shop !

♡ ❝ Tour guide for Trip 2 only brought us to this shop and i dislike bitter gourd ! =.= ❞

And for this ximending trip , we only got like 1 or 2 hours to shop ! Definitely NOT enough for such a big place and there's so much stuffs to explore ! So end up super rush but i still managed to get stuffs (had to make super quick decisions ! Sighhh~) ! XD

During my first trip , i went ximending twice , so here's the last day which i spent at ximending with friends ! We took the Metro over !

♡ ❝ Singapore use ezlink card to scan . In Taiwan , they use chips to scan . But i think chips are for one trip use . If for often usage , they also use cards like us too . Yes ? No ? ❞

♡ ❝ In ximending there's alot of 麻辣火鍋 shops and not only that , majority provide Hagen Daz and Movenpick icecream ! ❞

♡ ❝ KFC breakfast ! ❞

My male friends also did haircuts before leaving for Singapore . The results were nice and the pricing is about SGD20(?) !

(Back to 2010 December trip)

Before my day 1 tour ended , we had xiao long bao treats (of a variety flavors) but then each person can only eat one ! =.= And don't ask me what is what cause i already forgot , so just enjoy the photos of the food ! ):

And finally , TO HOTEL FOR A NIGHT REST !!! Hotel is located in a ulu area in Taoyuan ! Super ulu ! Actually looks more like a resort to me cause nearby is golf course !

♡ ❝ Let down my hair and got amaze with the big curls ! To think back , actually nothing to be surprise of since i tied bun for more than 24 hours ! ❞

♡ ❝ With new beanie bought at xinmending ! hehehehe ❞

WOOHOOOOO ~~~ i finally ended Day 1 post with 3 locations ! And in my opinion , 淡水老街 is another good location to shop for cheap trends . As for 西門町 , needless to say is definitely the trendiest place for youngsters . Last assignment for my photography module is Theme Photography ! i think it's the most awesome and coolest assignment ever ! One word - FUN ! Cause when you see the photos , they are all amazing and we enjoyed the process !!! it's like how often do you get to shoot such photos ? (Maybe not totally enjoying cause our @^#*!^$*! lecturer kept counting down the time telling us we were running out of time at the same time ! And we had to rush ! Zzzz ~)

Before you start criticizing the photos , fyi , we aren't some professionals in photography nor having an awesome studio to ourselves . We are only students ! We just started experimenting with the lightings this year ! ^ ⍵ ^

So the my group did was Hollywood stars (walking on the red carpet) .

Busyness just couldn't shoo off my life , it hooked on to me which reason why i haven't been blogging for such a long time ! Actually there's also nothing much special about my life , just bouncing myself between school and home . fml !

Anyhow , Majolica Majorca's Chapter 30 is out !!!! Like finally !!!! YES ! 小人國 !!! & it is now associated with Doreamon ! Good for Doreamon fans but neutral for me ! ＞艸＜

Cause we were given 2 free coupons so family went to snap . But the 2 free ones are actually pathetic mini ! wtf ! No wonder the place is called 小人國 ! But because photos are so well-taken , parents bought bigger sizes ! woohuuuui look chio inside hor ! HAHAHAHAA

♡ ❝ Waiting to choo-choo back to the place we initially enter from . ❞

End of 小人國 ! So in conclusion , the nearby 六福村 is 100000000x way more fun and exciting enough to let your tears see the world !

Initially i thought 小人國 is like another Sanrio Puroland or Disneyland or something along that line since it's now associated with Doreamon ! But it turns out my illusion for 小人國 has crushed ! fml ! The theme park is sooooo mini - totally for little kids ! Imagine those at Pasar Malam or mini-carnivals ! And also not much of Doreamon to make me wow ! Waste of time and money ! wtf !

小人國 is seriously boring as a theme park unless you have a 5 years old kid with you ! Maybe there's bigger version for adults i dont know . But then hor , all these in 六福村 also got ! More variety and can even run about as if you are in Disneyland ! =.= i rather 小人國 to be a museum of minis , it would have been an interesting tour spot ! Oh wellsxzzz , i'm not interested to go there again !

Taiwan Trip: Day 1 Arrival

Yes , i know it's already a month ago thing ! But i've havent got the time to filter and edit the photos to share ! Neither in my facebook !!!

Alright , so i went for a 7 days tour around Taiwan with family and tour agency from 22-28 December 2010 ! The 7 days were like running a marathon ! Everyday at anywhere and everywhere need to rush cause we had to complete traveling around Taiwan within the 7 days ! & THAT INCLUDES SHOPPING !!! FOL !

Anyhow , let's begin with day 1 ! But to be specific , it's day 0 la ! Cause we checked-in late at night and took a midnight flight ! Okay , whatever ! Not important !

♡ ❝ Supper on the plane ! 100000000x better than Jetstar's ! damn Jetstar scam money only ! ❞

If you had noticed the weather in Taiwan during December , you should know that it has been raining practically everyday ! wtf ! & we were traveling over !

♡ ❝ Arrivingggggggg and the plane is getting lower . See the thick clouds ?! IT'S FREAKING EVERYWHERE ACROSS THE HORIZON ! No wonder rain everyday la ! ❞

Okay this is what happened . i said i want 猪肉满福堡餐 (Sausage McMuffin) but that showed-black-face staff started hearing from the word '满' , so it becomes 满福堡餐 (Egg McMuffin) ! WTFFFFFF ! WHY DO I WANT EGG MCMUFFIN WHEN IT IS SOLD AT EVERY SINGAPORE'S OUTLET ?!!!

If you don't know , in Taiwan , only their breakfast sausage is pork (Over here in Singapore are all chicken!) ! Burgers for lunch/dinner/supper are totally same as Singapore . So that's a new thing for a typical Singaporean like me wanna try ! wtf ! sounds like i never eat pork before / pork not at all not sold in Singapore ! =.=

LESSON LEARNT : NEXT TIME FREAKING EMPHASIZED ON THE TWO WORDS - 猪肉！Or like typical Singaporean , check your order before you leave ! Pekcek !

Tutorial: Edit 1000 photos at 1 shot !

YES ! YES ! YOU CAN ! I CAN ! WE CAN ! As long as it's on CS4/5 Photoshop platform ! ^艸^ But to edit 1000 photos at one shot , should be able to but i'm just afraid it may end up lagging !

Actually i was taught this in school and i thought this is rather an awesome thing to know especially for people like me who likes to share photos . And before sharing , i always need to do some editing , like adjusting the colors or adjust the size to make uploading to host easier . But the problem is TOO MANY PHOTOS TO EDIT ! Agree much ?

So people , OPEN UP YOUR CS4/5 PHOTOSHOP NOW ! I'M GONNA TEACH YOU HOW !

1 ☆ Open up ' ACTIONS ' window (Window > Actions) .

* This is the key thing to do such awesome shortcut

2 ☆ Click the folder button . If you don't know which , look at the image below !

3 ☆ Name your action ! Just name anything as long as you can recognize this name for the actions you gonna be doing for later on .

4 ☆ Open up one of the photos you want to edit .

5 ☆ Click on ' Create new action ' button ! If you don't know which , look at the image below !

6 ☆ Name the Action either to easy display what you are going to do on the photo or anyhow name as long as you can recognize this name for the actions you gonna be doing for later on .

7 ☆ As you know when you click ' Record ' , it means it will do something right ? YES ! The moment you click ' Record ' , it will record down ALL THE STEPS that you do on that particular photo ! But keep in mind that you are going to apply this whole recording on your 1000000 photos , so don't happily edit what color adjusting , color balance , add this and that here and there etc ... and end up it only work well for that particular photo . Defeat purpose already !

This action is actually to help you mass edit if you are going to repeat the same step(s) 1000 times on the 1000 photos . And also , better not to make mistakes while recording . Be sure what you gonna do before recording .

8 ☆ After you have completed , SAVE THE PHOTO ! It will be better if you create a new folder where all the other photos can land into it too . For now , let's say the photo is being saved inside ' edited ' folder !

9 ☆ Remember to CLOSE the photo file after saving . You won't want to have all the 1000 photos being opened on Photoshop after being edited . it will crash your Photoshop and labtop !

10 ☆ Don't forget you are still on recording mode ! Hence , after closing the file , click the ' Stop ' button to end the whole action .

11 ☆ You can test if your action works by opening a new photo and plays it . Click on the ' Play ' button to play the steps on the new photo . Check ' edited ' folder if the new photo is edited and being saved into it .

So for the next 998 photos , you have to open one by one and click ' Play ' on each of them ! That's the shortcut !

HAHAHAHA ! OKAY ! I'M JOKING ! But you can actually use this ' Play ' method if you have only few photos to work on . Like maybe 5 ?

But what if really got 1000 photos to work on ?

12 ☆ Click on ' Br ' ! (Refer to image below) Or bascially open up Adobe Bridge !

13 ☆ Select your 1000 photos or 998 if you don't want the software to work on that first 2 photos anymore .

14 ☆ Still selecting the photos , click Tools > Photoshop > Batch...

15 ☆ Follow the steps in the image below . If you can't read the text , click on it for a larger view . For the assigned folder , you can use the one you have created previously with that first 2 photos or create a new one .

Confirm and click ' OK ' !

Ta-dah ! You are done ! Just sit back and relax while watching your photos being processed ! When everything ended , just check to make sure the edited 1000/998 photos are in your assigned folder .

Easy ? i hope this is useful for whoever is reading this especially if you have taken 1000 or even 10000 photos during this CNY festive season with your family and friends !
